Hurricane Harvey ADOPT-a-CHAMBER
Many of our fellow Texans experienced devastating losses during Hurricane Harvey. While media attention has slowed, the recovery efforts are still underway. To show our support for our neighbors, the Midland Chamber has chosen to participate in a statewide Adopt-A-Chamber Program. We have chosen to adopt the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce. Orange, Texas, is located on the Gulf Coast and the border of Louisiana, along Interstate 10.
The Chamber itself experienced extreme flooding, necessitating a complete office gutting. Staff has been able to operate out of a local bank office, as the process of demolition and repair to the Chamber offices has begun. Unfortunately, the staff has already received notification from several members that they are closing their business permanently. Furthermore, a number of businesses will be unable to pay their annual dues while rebuilding. In an effort to allow the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce to continue operating at a high level and serve its current members, the Midland Chamber of Commerce asked our members to adopt this Chamber for one year.
Thank you to the following businesses for supporting our fellow chamber
